About Ailsa
I fell in love with flowers and learnt the skills of floristry working in a flower shop whilst studying illustration at art school.
Years later, after working as an illustrator and a career in arts education in London, I moved back home to Scotland to have my two little boys and from my home in Doune I started Ailsa Ishbel Floristry.
Since then I’ve working directly with my own clients and freelancing for other top florists at many of Scotland’s most exciting and luxury wedding venues.
Bringing my artistic background into my work I carefully consider colour, texture, movement and overall styling whilst selecting flowers based on seasonal availability from the best UK and Dutch growers.
I only use sustainable floristry mechanics to create my work - meaning you won’t find any floristry foam or unnecessary plastics amongst your flowers and I order flowers specifically for your wedding or event, avoiding wastage from holding stock and making sure your blooms are fresh for you.
Together with my brides and clients, I create a design brief whether it be wild and romantic, elegant and modern or simply traditional to create bouquets, installations, table flowers and more.
